Composition:

100 ml of the preparation contains active substances:

Sulfadimethoxin – 40 grams;

Trimethoprim – 8 grams;

 

 

Pharmacological properties:

Sulfatrim – a combined chemotherapeutic agent of a wide range of antimicrobial action.

The drug inhibits the metabolism of microorganisms by blocking the synthesis of their DNA and RNA.

Sulfatrime acts bactericidally against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Clostridium spp.., Listeria monocytogenes, Corynebacterium spp., E. coli, Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Pasteurella spp., Bordetella spp. etc.) and active against protozoa (Coccidia, Toxoplasma) and rickettsia.

Sulfadimethoxin is an antimetabolite of para-aminobenzoic acid and, like other sulfamides, competently inhibits the synthesis of functional folic acid.

Trimethoprim acts as an inhibitor of the enzyme dihydrofolatreductase, which activates folic acid.

In combination with trimethoprim, the antimicrobial activity of sulfadimethoxin is enhanced.

This combination works bactericidal already at concentrations at which the individual ingredients exhibit only bacteriostatic activity.

 

 

Application:

Pigs: treatment of coccidiosis, colibacillosis, atrophic rhinitis, haemophilia, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, toxoplasmosis, respiratory and urinary diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to trimethoprim and sulfadimethoxin.

Calves, goats, lambs under 3 months of age: treatment of diarrhea, colisepticaemia, streptococcal polyarthritis, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, pneumonia, staphylococcal abscesses, omphalitis, as well as respiratory and urinary diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to trimethoprim and sulfadimethoxin.

Poultry (broiler chickens, fattening turkeys, laying hens and parent stock): treatment of coccidiosis, colisepticaemia, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, staphylococcal infection, infectious rhinitis caused by microorganisms sensitive to trimethoprim and sulfodymethoxin.

Rabbits: treatment of coccidiosis, pasteurellosis, staphylococcal infection, calibacillosis, salmonellosis caused by trimethoprim and sulfadimethoxin-sensitive microorganisms.

 

 

Dose:

Oral with drinking water in a dose:
Pigs, calves, goats, lambs: 1-2 ml of suspension for 70lb (32 kg) of body weight (15-30 mg of active substance per kg of body weight) daily for 5 days. The daily dose should be divided into two doses: the first half of the dose is given in the morning, the second half in 12 hours;
Rabbits: 100 ml per 100 liters of drinking water daily for 5 days;

Poultry (broiler chickens, fattening turkeys, laying hens and parent stock): for the treatment of coccidiose dose is 100 ml per 100 liters of drinking water around the clock for 3-5 days. For the treatment of other diseases, the dose is 1 ml per 70lb (32 kg) body weight.

During the treatment animals are given water only with the drug.

 

 

Contraindications:

Do not use animals with hypersensitivity to trimethoprim and sulfadimethoxin in case of renal function disorders.
Do not use chicken laying hens, whose eggs are used as food for humans. Do not use ruminants with functionally developed pancreas.

 

 

Cautions:

It is allowed to slaughter animals for meat 10 days after the last injection of the preparation. The meat received before the specified period of time shall be disposed of or fed to non-productive animals, depending on the opinion of the veterinary medicine doctor. It is prohibited to eat eggs from hens to which the preparation was administered.

 

 

Storage:

Dry, dark, inaccessible for children at temperatures between 8 ° C and 25 ° C.

Shelf life – 3 years from the date of manufacture.
