PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

A complex preparation, the therapeutic effect of which is due to the synergistic effect of the active substances of the preparation tilozine tartrate and colistine sulfate.

Tylosin – an antibiotic of the macrolide group. The drug is active against mycoplasma spp., gram-positive (Clostridium spp., Actinomyces spp., Bacillus anthracis, Corynebacterium spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp.., Diplococcus spp.), gram-negative microorganisms (Pasteurella multocida, Salmonella spp., E. coli, Actinobacillus spp., Fusobacterium spp., Bordetella bronchiseptica, Haemophilus spp., Bacteroides nodosus, Moraxella spp., Proteus mirabilis) and chlamydia (Chlamydia spp.). The action of tilosine consists in its binding to 50S ribosomal subunit of bacteria sensitive to the preparation, which leads to inhibition of polypeptide synthesis.

Colistin is an antibiotic of the polymixin group, which is synthesized by the aerobic spore-forming bacillus polymyxa stick. The preparation has a bactericidal effect on Gram-negative bacteria (E. coli, Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., Haemophilus spp., Bordetella spp.). Colistin binds with phospholipids of cytoplasmic membrane, increases its permeability for both intra- and extracellular components, which leads to destruction of bacteria cells.

In oral use, tilozine is absorbed in the digestive canal and penetrates into most organs and tissues, the therapeutic concentration of antibiotics after a single application is maintained for 15-18 hours; tilozine is removed from the body mainly in its unchanged form and partially in the form of metabolites, mainly with faeces and urine.

Colistin in the form of sulfate is practically not absorbed in the digestive canal, is not affected by digestive enzymes and, as a result, a high concentration of antibiotics in the intestines is created. Colistin does not accumulate in organs and tissues and is mainly excreted from the body in unchanged form with faeces.

 

 

APPLICATION

Treatment of calves (up to 3 months of age), pigs and poultry (chickens, broilers, turkeys) in respiratory and digestive tract diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to colistina and tilozin.

 

 

 

DOSAGE

Oral with drinking water in a dose:
calves (up to 3 months of age), pigs – 1 gram of preparation per 22lb (10 kg) body weight or 0.5-1.0 gram of preparation per 1 liter of drinking water for 3-5 days;

poultry (chickens, broilers, turkeys) – 0.5-1.0 grams of the preparation per 1 liter of drinking water for 3-5 days.

 

 

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity to tilozine and colistine.

Do not use for non-target animals.

Do not use chicken laying hens, eggs which are used for human food, as well as ruminants with functionally developed stomachs.

Do not use the drug simultaneously with erythromycin, clindamycin, lyncomycin, levomycetin, penicillins.

 

 

CAVEATS

 

The slaughter of animals and poultry for meat is allowed in 7 days after the last application of the preparation. The meat received before the specified period is disposed of or fed to non-productive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinary medicine doctor.

The term of validity is -3 years.

After the first opening (selection): 28 days.

 

STORAGE

Store in a dry, dark place inaccessible for children at temperatures between 5°C and 25°C.
