Composition :

1 ml of the drug contains:

Imidocarb Dipropionate – 120 mg

Pharmacological properties :

Imidocarb dipropionate, a derivative of Icarbanilide, provides a broad spectrum of antiprotozoal action against pyroplasmidosis pathogens in mono- or mixed infestations – Babesia bovis, B. bigemina, B. colchis (Francaiella colchica), B. divergens, B. ovis, B. motasi, B. caballi, B. eqi (Nuttallia equi), B. canis, B. gibsonii, B. vogeli, Theileria annulata, T. sergenti, T. mutans, T. orientalis, T. ovis, T. recondita, T. hirci, T. tarandirangiferis, rickettsiae of the genera Anaplasma marginale, A. centrale, A. ovis, A. phagocytophilum, and the genera Ehrlichia canis, E. chaffeensis.

Mechanism of antiprotozoal action is based on inhibition of aerobic glucose metabolism and DNA synthesis in pyroplasmids, which causes their further death.

After parenteral administration the drug is quickly absorbed and reaches maximum concentration in blood after 1-2 hours, therapeutic concentration is maintained for 4-6 weeks.

It is metabolized to a small extent, accumulates mainly in kidneys and liver, is eliminated from the body mainly with feces, to a lesser extent with urine.

Imidokarba dipropionate refers to moderately hazardous substances according to the degree of impact on the body.
