Description
A clear, colorless or pale yellow injection.
Composition:
1 ml of the drug contains
the active substance:
Doramectin – 10 mg.
Pharmacological properties:
Decostar is a ready-to-use sterile solution containing the active substance doramectin. Doramectin is a new substance from the group of avermectins, has a wide range of systemic nematodicidal, insecticidal and acaricidal effects, larvocidal and ovocidal properties. Modulates the activity of chlorine ions in the nervous system and muscles of nematodes and arthropods. By binding to specific receptors, it increases the permeability of synaptic membranes for chlorine ions, which leads to blockade of the activity of nerve and muscle cells of nematodes and arthropods, causes paralysis and death of parasites. In mammals, these receptors are localized only in the central nervous system, and doramectin does not penetrate the blood-brain barrier and, therefore, at recommended doses is safe for mammals. In recommended doses, it is not mutagenic, teratogenic and embryotoxic effects. Decostar is easily absorbed from the injection site, is highly effective and does not adversely affect animals. The pharmacokinetic properties of doramectin provide long-term preservation of therapeutic concentrations of the drug in the blood of animals and protect them from parasitic diseases and reinfestation for a long time.
Application:
Treatment and prevention of diseases of cattle, sheep, pigs caused by nematodes and ectoparasites:
Cattle :
gastrointestinal nematodes (adults and stage 4 larvae):
Ostertagia ostertagi (including the inhibited larval stage) , O. lyrata, Haemonchus placei, Trichostrongylus axei, T. colubriformis., Cooperia oncophora, C. pectinala, C. punctata, C. sumabada, Nematodirus spathiger, Bunostomum phlebotumap. Oesophagostomum radiatum, Trichuris spp. ;
pulmonary helminths (adults and stage 4 larvae): Dictyocaulus viviparous ; ophthalmic helminths (mature): Thelazia spp .; larvae of the subcutaneous gadfly (parasitic stages): Hypoderma bovis, H. Lineatum; lice Haematopinus euresternus, Linognatus vituli, Solenopotes capillatus ;
scabies mites: Psoroptes bovis, Sarcoptes scabiei .
It is also used to treat and prevent diseases caused by helminths of the gastrointestinal tract Nematodirus helvanicus , lice Damalinia bovis and scabies mites Chorioptes bovis .
The drug prevents cattle reinvasion from:
Ostertagia ostertagi – 35 days;
Cooperia oncophora -21 days;
Dictyoaculus viviparus – 35 days;
Bunostomum phlebotomum – 22 days;
Oesophagostomum radiatum – 21 days;
Trichostrongilus axei – 28 days;
Linognatus vituli – 28 days;
Psoroptes bovis – 42 days;
Haemonchus placeі – 28 days.
For greater efficiency, it is recommended to treat the commodity livestock of animals with the drug Decostar 1% when transferred to pasture and again after 8 weeks.
Sheep :
gastrointestinal nematodes (adults and stage 4 larvae):
Chabertia ovina (sexually mature stage),
Cooperia curticei (stage L4),
C. oncophora,
Gaigeria pachycelis,
Haemonchus contortus,
Nematodes battus (stage L4),
Ostertagia (Teladorsagia) circumcincta,
Oesophagostomum columbianum,
Strongyloides papillosus,
Tricnostrongylus axei,
Trichostrongylus columbiformis,
Trichostrongilus vitrinus,
Trichuris spp (mature stage);
Effectively acts on the larval stages of L4, even those that are naturally insensitive to preparations of benzimidazole derivatives.
for effective treatment and prevention of animals in relation to the adult and larval stages of L4 Nematodirus battus, it is recommended to use a dose of 300 mcg / kg bw ;
scabies mites: Psoroptes ovis ;
pulmonary helminths: Dictyocaulus filaria (adults);
helminths of the nasal cavity: Oestrus ovis .
Pigs :
gastrointestinal nematodes (sexually mature and stage 4 larvae):
Hyostrongylus rubidus,
Ascaris suum,
Strongyloides ransomi,
Oesophagostomum dentatum,
Oesophagostomum quadrispinulatum ,
pulmonary helminths: Metastrongylus spp . (only mature stage); renal helminths: Stephanurus dentatus (mature stage only);
lice: Haematopinus suis ; Sarcoptes scabiei scabies mites .
Decostar 1% protects pigs from invasion or reinfestation against Sarcoptes scabiei for 18 days.
Dosage:
Recommended doses of the drug:
Cattle : 1 ml / 110 lb (50 kg) bw (equivalent to 200 mcg / kg) once subcutaneously in the neck.
Sheep : 1 ml / 110lb (50 kg) bw (equivalent to 200 mcg / kg) once intramuscularly; for diseases caused by Psoroptes ovis (sheep scabies) and Nematodirus battus (mature stage) – 1 ml / 33 kg bw (equivalent to 300 mcg / kg), intramuscularly.
