Description

Transparent, colorless or slightly yellowish liquid.

 

Composition:

1 ml of the preparation contains

the active ingredient:

Gentamycin sulfate – 40 mg.

 

 

Pharmacological properties:

Gentamicin belongs to the aminoglycosides group. It is active in Gram-negative and Gram-positive microorganisms: Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp. Shigella spp., Enterobacter aerogenes, Klebsiella spp., some species of Proteus spp. and Serratia spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pasteurella multocida, Staphylococcus aureus, Serpulina hyodysenteriae, Mycoplasma spp. Gentamicin acts on sensitive cells in several directions: influence on the integrity of the cytoplasmic membrane, influence on the metabolism of RNA; suppression of protein synthesis at the level of zOS ribosomal subunit.

 

 

Application:

Treatment of cattle, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs and cats with septicaemia, arthritis, as well as diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory and urinary systems, skin caused by microorganisms sensitive to gentamycin.

 

 

Dosage:

Intramuscularly 2 times a day with the interval of 10-12 hours within 3-5 days in the following doses:

cattle – 0.5-1 ml of the preparation for 22 lb (10 kg) body weight;

Horses, sheep, goats, pigs – 0.5-1 ml of the preparation per 22lb (10 kg) body weight;

Dogs, cats – 1.25 ml of the preparation per 22lb (10 kg) body weight.

Newborn animals are given half the recommended dose during the first days of life.

 

 

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to gentamicin.

Do not use animals with impaired kidney function, hearing and balance. Do not use simultaneously with other aminoglycoside antibiotics and antibiotics with nephrotoxic effect (polymixin B, colistine, amphotericin, chloramphenicol, cephalosporin, erythromycin), as well as with myorelaxanths and anesthetics, sulfonamides, heparin, B vitamins, diuretics (furosemide).

 

 

Cautions:

The slaughter of animals for meat and the use of milk for food is allowed after 45 days and 3 days, respectively, after the last application of the drug. Meat and milk obtained by the deadline are disposed of or fed to unproductive animals, depending on the opinion of the veterinarian. Pregnant and lactating animals are given the preparation in cases of extreme necessity. Prolonged treatment with the drug can lead to nephrotoxic and ottoxic action.

 

 

Storage:

Dry, dark, inaccessible for children at temperatures ranging from 60-77 F (+ 15 ° C to +25 ° C).

Shelf life – 2 years from the date of manufacture.

After the first selection from the bottle, the drug should be used for 14 days, provided that it is stored in a dark place at a temperature of 35-45F (+ 2 ° C to + 8 ° C).
