100 grams of powder contains the active ingredient:
Florfenicol – 2 grams.
Florfenicol is a derivative of thiamphenicol, in which the hydroxyl group is replaced by the fluorine atom, causing its antibacterial activity against acetyltransferasosynthetic bacteria, which are sensitive to chloramphenicol.
It is a broad-spectrum bacteriostatic synthetic agent. Fluoramphenicol inhibits protein synthesis in bacterial cells.
In protoplasm it binds to 70S-ribosomal subunits, in which it inhibits the enzymatic activity of peptidyl transferase, and thus inhibits protein synthesis in ribosomes of corresponding bacteria.
Florfenicol is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, namely Escherichia coli, Pasteurella multocida, Salmonella spp. (in that number Salmonella choleraesuis), Haemophilus spp., Proteus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp. (including Streptococcus suis), Shigella spp., Klebsiella spp., Enterobacter spp., Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, Mycoplasma hyorhinis and others.
, are used for treatment of respiratory diseases caused by Pasteurella multocida, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus somnus as well as for necrobacillus and infectious keratoconjunctivitis caused by Moraxella bovis.
Pigs: treatment of animals with pleuropneumonia, atrophic rhinitis, Glesser’s disease (hemophiliac polyserositis) and other diseases caused by fluorophenicol-sensitive microorganisms.
Fish (carp and trout): treatment of fish suffering from furunculosis, as well as other diseases caused by organisms sensitive to Florfenicol .
, in colisepticemia, pasteurellosis, staphyllococcosis, respiratory diseases of bacterial etiology, including those caused by Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale.
Oral in doses:
, ,,- 3.3-4.4lb (1.5-2 kg) of the preparation per ton of feed (30-40 grams of Florfenicol / 2200lb (1000kg) of feed) or 0.075-0.1 grams of the preparation per 2.2lb (1kg) body weight (1.5-2 mg Florfenicol / 2.2lb (1kg) kg body weight) daily for 7 days;
Fish (carp and trout) – 50 grams of the preparation per 220lb (100 kg) kg of fish body weight (10 mg Florfenicol /2.2lb (1kg) of fish) daily for 10 days.
For small and young fish, the daily dose is divided into 2 equal parts.
In the treatment of carps preparation is pre-mixed with non-grated food, from which then prepare a thick mass for feeding.
Poultry – 20 mg of florfenicol per 2.2lb (1 kg) of poultry weight, Course of application of the preparation – 3 days, for salmonellosis and mixed infections – 5 days.
Do not use animals sensitive to the drug, as well as sows, sows in lactation period and boars intended for reproduction.Do not use simultaneously with thiamphenicol or chloramphenicol.
It is forbidden to use:
– if the animal is hypersensitive to the components of the preparation;
– laying hens and young laying hens less than 2 weeks before oviposition due to accumulation of florfenicol in eggs;
– sows in sows;
– boars to growers.
It is allowed to slaughter pigs for meat not earlier than 6 days, birds – not earlier than 2 days after the last application. The meat of animals forced to be slaughtered before the expiration of these terms may be used for feeding fur animals.
People are allowed to use fish for food after 16 days (at water temperatures between 40-50F (5 ° C to 10 ° C)).
In case of slaughtering of pigs or catching fish earlier than specified time, meat is fed to unproductive animals or disposed of depending on the conclusion of the veterinary medicine.The preparation cannot be used for fish treatment if the water temperature is below 40F (5 ° C).
Dry, dark, inaccessible for children at temperatures between 32-86F (0 ° C to 30 ° C).
