Composition

1 bottle contains:

Streptomycin sulfate – 5 grams

 

Pharmacological properties:

Streptomycin sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that has a broad spectrum of antimicrobial (bactericidal) action. The drug is active against  Mycobacterium tuberculosis ,  the majority of gram-negative bacteria ( Escherichia coli ,  Salmonella spp .,  Shigella spp .,  Yersinia spp .,  Klebsiella spp .,  In t. Ch.  Klebsiella pneumoniae , Haemophilus influenzae ,  Neisseria gonorrhoeae ,  Neisseria meningitidis ,  Yersinia pestis           ,  Francisella tularensis , Brucella spp .)  And some gram-positive microorganisms ( Staphylococcus spp .,  Corynebacterium diphtheriae ). Less active drug against  Streptococcus spp . (including  Streptococcus pneumoniae ),  Enterobacter spp . Streptomycin is inactive against anaerobic bacteria,  Spirochaetaceae ,,  Rickettsia spp .,  Proteus spp ., Pseudomonas aeroginosa .           The bactericidal effect of the drug is due to the binding to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, which subsequently leads to inhibition of protein synthesis in microorganisms.

Application:

Treatment in cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and horses of diseases of the digestive canal, respiratory and urogenital system, skin and soft tissues caused by streptomycin-sensitive microorganisms.

 

Dosage:

Intramuscularly 2 times a day with an interval of 12 hours in the following doses:

Intramuscular injections make deep into the muscle . The course of treatment is 4-7 days.

For intramuscular administration, the drug is dissolved in water for injection, 0.9  %  sodium chloride solution or 0.25-0.5% novocaine solution at the rate of 4 ml of solvent per 1 grams of the drug. The solution is prepared immediately before use.

 

Contraindication:

Hypersensitivity to streptomycin. Do not use concurrently with aminoglycoside antibiotics.

Contraindicated use in diseases of the auditory and vestibular apparatus associated with neuritis VIII pair of cranial nerve, in severe forms of cardiovascular and renal failure.

 

Warning:

The slaughter of animals for meat and the consumption of milk for human consumption is allowed, respectively, 7 and 2 days after the last use of the drug. Meat and milk obtained before that time are disposed of or fed to unproductive animals, according to the opinion of the veterinarian.

 

Release form:

Glass vials, closed with a rubber stopper under aluminum running in 5 grams.

 

Storage:

Dry, dark, out of reach of children at a temperature of   60-77F   ( 15 ° C to 25 ° C).

 

Shelf life  – 3 years from the date of manufacture.
