Composition
1 tablet (0.8 grams) contains :
Fenbendazole – 150mg;
Pirantela embonate – 144mg;
Praziquantel – 50mg;
Pharmacological properties:
The drug has a wide range of antihelminthic effect at all stages of development of round and strip helminths, including: Toxocara canis, Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum, Trichuris vulpis, Echinococcus granulosus, Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp., Multiceps multiceps, Mesocestoides spp., Echinococcus multilocularis.
The mechanism of action of the drug is based on the suppression of enzymes, damage to the shell and muscle tissue of the parasite, which leads to a disturbance of neuromuscular innervation, paralysis and death of helminths.
The drug is low-toxic to warm-blooded animals.
Application:
Treatment and prophylaxis in dogs and cats of nematodes (toxocarosis, toxascarosis, untsinariasis, ankylostomosis, trichocephalosis) and cestodoses (teniosis, echinococcosis, dipilidiosis).
Dosage:
The tablets are prescribed orally once in whole, in shredded form or with feed in doses:
Puppies, small breeds of dogs and cats – 0.5 tablets for 4.4 – 8.8lb (2-4 kg);
medium breed dogs – 1 tablet for 11 – 22lb (5-10 kg);
large dogs – 1 tablet for every 22lb (10 kg) of body weight.
Do not prescribe with milk.
Deworming of puppies and kittens is recommended once from the age of 3 to 12 weeks at intervals of 3 weeks and then every 3 months thereafter.
Cautions:
Within a few hours after application of the drug may be feces thinning, rashes, in some cases, an increase in temperature. This is not a reaction to the drug, but a reaction to helminth proteins that have died under the influence of the drug. The drug may cause drowsiness.
Contraindications:
Do not use in ocular cysticercosis and spinal neurocysticercosis; liver diseases. Do not use simultaneously with piperazine and other antihelminthic medicines.
Storage:
In a dry, dark place in undamaged, tightly closed primary containers at temperatures up to 7F (25°C).
Shelf life – 3 years from the date of manufacture.
