1 gram of the preparation contains:
Apramycin sulfate – 500 mg
Powder of light yellow or light brown color.
Pharmacological properties :
Antibiotic of aminoglycosides group, acts against Gram-negative and some Gram-positive bacteria, inhibiting protein synthesis of microorganisms by irreversible binding to 30S ribosom subunit.
It is not active against anaerobic microorganisms.
Treatment of animals with diseases caused by Gram-negative and some Gram-positive microorganisms – Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp.., Pseudomonas spp., Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Proteus spp., Bordetella bronchiseptica, Klebsiella spp., Shigella spp., Campylobacter spp., Brachyspira hyodysenteriae, some mycoplasma hyopneumoniae species:
Calves under 6 weeks old – gastroenteritis caused by Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Pseudomonas spp., Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Proteus spp..;
Pigs under 120 days old – gastroenteritis, dysentery, oedema, caused by Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Pseudomonas spp., Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Proteus spp., Bordetella bronchiseptica, Campylobacter spp., Brachyspira hyodysenteriae;
Lambs under 6 weeks of age – gastroenteritis caused by Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Pseudomonas spp., Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Proteus spp..;
Rabbits – mucoid enteropathy, colibacillosis;
Broiler chickens, repair young laying hens – diseases caused by Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Pseudomonas spp., Staphylococcus spp., Salmonella spp.
How to use and doses :
The drug is used orally with drinking water, calves and lambs are given with milk or its substitute once a day, the course – 5-7 days, in the following doses:
– calves under 6 weeks old – 40-80 mg per 2.2lb (1 kg) body weight;
– piglets at the age up to 120 days – 15-25 mg per 2.2lb (1 kg) of body weight or 250-500 mg per 1 liter of water;
– lambs at the age up to 6 weeks – 20 mg per 2.2lb (1 kg) of body weight;
– rabbits – 20-30 mg per 2.2lb (1 kg) body weight or 100-200 mg per 1 liter of water;
– repair young laying hens, broiler chickens – 50-100 mg per 2.2lb (1 kg) body weight or 0.5-1 grams per 1 liter of water.
Before application, 5-10 parts of liquid (water, milk or its substitute) are added to the calculated daily dose of the preparation, the solution is allowed to stand for 3-5 minutes, stirred and bring the volume to the required final concentration.
When used with water, it is recommended to mix the drug dose with the third or half of the daily norm of drinking water. The solution should not be prepared in rusty metal containers, as iron ions reduce the activity of antibiotics.
After the last application of the preparation calf slaughter for meat is allowed in 7 days. Meat obtained earlier than this period is disposed or fed to unproductive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinarian. Meat of piglets, lambs, rabbits, chickens can be used without restrictions.
Do not prescribe to animals with hypersensitivity to aramicin or other aminoglycosides. Do not use simultaneously with β-lactam antibiotics due to decrease of antibacterial activity and other aminoglycosides due to possible increase of nephrotoxic action.
Do not use chicken laying eggs, which are eaten by people.
Storage conditions :
In a dry, dark, inaccessible for children place at temperatures between 40-77F (+4 to +25 ° C).
Use the aqueous solution of the preparation within 3 days, the solution based on milk or its substitute – on the day of preparation.
