NADA 138-955, Approved by FDA
1 grams of the product contains
the active ingredient:
tylosine tartrate 500 mg.
Tylosine is an antibiotic from the macrolide group, active against most gram-positive and some gram-negative bacteria, including staphylococcus, streptococcus, corynebacteria, clostridium, pasterella, erysipelotrix, spirochaetes, chlamydia, treponemas of chiodysentery and mycoplasm.
When administered orally, the antibiotic is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and penetrates almost all organs and tissues of the body. The highest levels of tilosine are achieved in the lungs, liver, mammary glands and kidneys.
The therapeutic concentration of antibiotic after a single administration of pharmasine water-soluble powder is maintained in the body for 15 – 18 hours. In addition, due to the peculiarities of the mechanism of action, pharmasine selectively accumulates in tissues with low pH values, i.e. in inflammation foci, providing a pronounced and targeted effect.
Phormasin® has a nonspecific immunostimulating and immunomodulatory effect due to inhibition of cytokines, activation of plasma cells and production of antibodies, activation of leukocyte chemotaxis and proliferation of lymphatic elements.
Phormasin® at exceptionally high concentrations is accumulated in neutrophil lysosomes, ensuring complete phagocytosis and rapid elimination of bacterial pathogens.
Tylosine is excreted mainly with feces, in smaller quantities with urine and milk, and in laying birds with eggs.
Tylosin is a mixture of macrolide antibiotics produced by the strain Streptomyces fradiae, and includes mainly tilosin A. Tylosine is effective against Gram-positive and some Gram-negative microorganisms: Corynebacterium spp., Clostridium spp., Erysipelothrix spp., Pasteurella spp., Vibrio spp., Leptospira spp, Brucella spp., Neisseria spp., Haemophilus spp., as well as against rickettsia spp., spirochaeta (Borrelia anserina, Brachyspira hyodysenteriae), and mycoplasm (M. gallisepticum, M. synoviae, M. meleagridis, etc.).
Tylosin exhibits bacteriostatic action by inhibition of protein synthesis (due to irreversible compound with subunits of 50S bacterial ribosomes) and microbial cell growth and reproduction, respectively.
For prevention and treatment:
– respiratory mycoplasmosis of birds;
– infectious sinusitis of turkeys.
Chicken broilers, repair young egg breeds, turkeys: prevention and treatment of poultry with enteritis, haemophilosis, vibriosis, spirochetosis, infectious sinusitis, synovitis, chronic respiratory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to tilozin.
– Dysentery and gastroenterocolitis of pigs caused by sensitive microorganisms;
– Bronchopneumonia of calves caused by sensitive microorganisms.
— Treatment of dysentery and gastroenterocolitis of bacterial etiology in pigs.
For control of cattle and small cattle necrobacteriosis.
Phormasin® 500 water-soluble powder is prescribed to animals inside with drinking water. During the treatment period, pigs and poultry should not receive other drinking water than water with the drug.
Before use, the recommended dose of the drug is dissolved in a small amount of water (water is added to the powder), and then diluted with water to the required concentration.
For therapeutic and preventive purposes, the drug is prescribed in a dose of 1 grams / per 1 liter of water to broilers for 3 days, for turkeys – for 5 days in the following growing periods:
|Species and group of birds||Bird age (day)|
When dysentery and gastroehnterokolitah bacterial etiology Pigs Phormasin® 500 water-soluble powder is administered in a dose of 0.5 grams / per 1 Liter of water (or 10 mg / 2,2lb(1kg) body weight) for 3-10 days.
With bronchopneumonia of calves, the drug is prescribed in a daily dose of 10 mg / 2,2lb (1kg) of the animal’s weight (they are soldered individually with water or milk) 2 times / day for 7-14 days.
It is allowed to slaughter animals and poultry for meat not earlier than 5 days after the last application of the preparation. The meat received before this period is fed to unproductive animals or disposed of depending on the conclusion of the veterinary medicine doctor.
