Pharmacological properties :

Synestrol 2 % [3.4-Di-(para-oxyphenyl)-hexane] is a hormonal drug, close to steroid estrogenic hormones in biological and therapeutic properties.

Hexestrol, sold under the brand name Synestrol among others, is a nonsteroidal estrogen which was previously used for estrogen replacement therapy and in the treatment of certain hormone-dependent cancers as well as as as gynecological disorders but is mostly no longer marketed. It has also been used in the form of esters such as hexestrol diacetate (brand name Sintestrol) and hexestrol dipropionate (brand name Hexanoestrol).
Hexestrol and its esters are taken by mouth, held under the tongue, or via injection into the muscle

Sinestrol is a hormonal drug with biological and therapeutic properties closely related to the steroid estrogenic hormones.

Sinestrol for animals was created artificially.

It is made on the basis of the female sex hormone estrone.

The drug is distinguished by its fast and effective action on the body of the animal.

After application of Sinestrol in reproductive tracts of females there are changes observed during the heat (increased blood supply to reproductive organs, activation of endometrial proliferation processes, changes in mammary glands).

After injection the drug is quickly absorbed from the injection site and distributed in organs and tissues of the animal.

Application :

Sinestrol 2% solution is used to treat endometritis in animals, to remove afterbirth and mummified fetuses, to increase mammary gland function, to show hunting in healthy females (hypofunction of ovaries).

After the drug enters the body of the animal, its main substance together with the natural hormone estrone begins to return the processes of the menstrual cycle to normal.

Dosage :

Sinestrol 2% is administered subcutaneously to cows and horses at 0.25-2.5 ml / head for ovarian diseases and heat stimulation – twice every 18-24 hours;

if cows are diagnosed with ovarian hypofunction, it is necessary to administer the preparation intramuscularly twice with 5-10 day intervals. The dosage should be in the range of 0.05-0.15 ml per head.In this particular case, the hormone is able to normalize menstrual cycles, in the future such an animal will be able to fertilize;

for the treatment of inflammatory processes of the endometrium and the prevention of reverse retardation of the uterus after delivery, Sinestrol is used twice at intervals of 24 hours. Dosages are 0.4 to 0.45 ml for every 220 lb (100 kg) of animal weight;

for treatment of chronic inflammations of endometrium in cows the drug is administered once. The dosage is 0.25-0.3 ml of injection per 220 lb (100 kg) of cow weight. Further use of the drug for therapy shall be discussed with the district veterinarian;
pyometra in cows shall be treated by two injections of the drug at 24-hour intervals. The dosage for the first injection shall be calculated as follows: 0,45-0,5 ml of the preparation per 220 lb (100 kg) of animal weight. The dose for the second injection is 0.25-0.3 ml per 220 lb (100 kg);

for expulsion of mummified fetuses in cattle use Sinestrol at a dose of 0.5 mg per 1 centner of weight. In case of poor efficacy it is necessary to discuss with the veterinarian the expediency of repeated injection;
If the cervix is not fully dilated, the drug should be injected subcutaneously in the same manner as described above;

To activate mammary gland function in cows, Sinestrol shall be administered for a duration of 45 days. The drug shall be administered at a dosage of 0.5-1.0 mg per 20 lb (100 kg) every 2 days for a period of 15 days.

Contraindications :

Do not use in liver disease, kidney disease, pregnancy.

Cautions :

Animal products during and after application of synestrol 2% solution shall be used without restriction.
