Composition:

100 ml of the preparation contains

the active ingredient:

urotropin – 40.0 grams;

 

 

Pharmacological action:

is based on the property  in a neutral and slightly acidic environment to decompose with the release of formaldehyde and ammonia. The latter shows antimicrobial properties, acts moderately diuretically and has the ability to reduce the barrier activity of cell membranes, so that, in general toxic processes, toxic substances are relatively easy to get into the bloodstream and excreted from the body. This action begins in 40 minutes and lasts 6-12 hours.

 

 

Application:

As a means of antiseptics for cattle, horses, sheep, goats, dogs, birds (hens) in the infectious processes of urinary tract (cystitis, pyelitis), cholecystitis, meningitis, encephalitis, arachnoiditis, allergic skin diseases (urticaria, polymorphic erythemia), eye diseases (iridocyclitis, keratitis), as well as poisoning, toxic infection, inflammation of muscles and joints.

The drug is administered intravenously, 2-3 times a day in the treatment of toxic infections, as well as in the treatment of mastitis and endometritis, inflammatory diseases of the urinary tract and kidneys in the following doses:

 

 

Dosage:

intravenously in the dose:

Horses, cattle – 1.5-2 ml per 22lb (10kg) body weight

sheep, goats – 0.5-1.5 ml of the preparation for 22lb (10kg) body weight.

The preparation is used intravenously to pigs in the ear vein
2-3 times a day in the following doses 0.5-0.7 ml per 22lb (10 kg) body weight

Oral in dose:

Dogs – 2-5 ml of the preparation per animal;

poultry – 0.1 ml of the preparation per animal.

Duration of treatment – up to 4 days.

 

 

At parenteral injections the preparation is preliminary warmed up on a water bath to temperature 95-100F (36-38°С).

 

 

Storage:

dry, dark place at temperature from 37-68F (+3°C to +20°C) – do not allow freezing of the solution.

Shelf life – 3 years.

Shelf life (after the first opening): the solution is allowed to be stored in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
