Composition

1 ml of the preparation contains

the active ingredient:

Enrofloxacin – 50 mg;

 

 

Pharmacological properties:

Bytril 5% Enrofloxacin – which is part of the preparation, belongs to the group of fluoroquinolones, has a wide range of antibacterial and antimicroplasma action, inhibits the growth and development of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Escherichia coli, Haemophilus, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Clostridium, Bordetella, Campylobacter, Corynebacterium, Pseudomonas, Proteus and Mycoplasma spp. The mechanism of action of enrofloxacin is to inhibit the activity of the enzyme giraza, affecting the replication of DNA helix in the nucleus of the bacterial cell. During parenteral administration, enrofloxacin is well and quickly absorbed from the injection site and penetrates into all organs and tissues of the body.

 

Application:

Cattle: treatment of diseases of digestive tract and respiratory organs caused by microorganisms sensitive to enrofloxacin (colibacillosis, septicemia, pasteurellosis, salmonellosis, staphylococcosis, mycoplasmosis), secondary bacterial infections in viral diseases.

 

Sheep, goats: treatment of diseases of digestive tract and respiratory organs caused by microorganisms sensitive to enrofloxacin (pasteurellosis, colibacillosis, clostridia, gangreneous and acute mastitis, salmonellosis, mycoplasmosis).

 

Pigs: treatment of diseases of digestive tract and respiratory organs caused by microorganisms sensitive to enrofloxacin (pasteurellosis, enzootic pneumonia, bacterial bronchopneumonia, colibacillosis, septicemia, salmonellosis, MMA syndrome, atrophic rhinitis).

Dogs: treatment of diseases of digestive tract, respiratory organs, genitourinary system, hearing organs, as well as sepsis, wound infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to enrofloxacin.

 

 

Dosage:

Bytril 5% is prescribed for calves, pigs and dogs for therapeutic purposes for infections of the respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, septicemia, colibacillosis, salmonellosis, streptococcosis, bacterial and enzootic pneumonia, atrophic rhinitis, mastitis-methyte agalactia syndrome, mixed infections, secondary infections in viral diseases and other diseases whose pathogens are sensitive to enrofloxacin.

 

Bytril 5% is applied once a day to calves and dogs subcutaneously, pigs – intramuscularly in the following doses:

 

calves and pigs – 1 ml per 44lb (20 kg) animal weight (2.5 mg of enrofloxacin per 2.2lb (1 kg) weight) for 3-5 days;

 

pigs with mastitis-methylite-agalactic syndrome – for 1-2 days;

 

dogs – 1 ml per 22lb (10 kg) animal weight (5 mg of enrofloxacin at 2.2lb (1 kg) weight) for 5 days,

up to 10 days for chronic and severe illnesses.

Due to possible painful reaction, the preparation should not be administered in one place to large animals in excess of 5 ml and to small animals in excess of 2.5 ml.

 

 

Contraindications:

The drug should not be administered to large animals in excess of 5 ml and small animals in excess of 2.5 ml:

Do not use animals with high sensitivity to enrofloxacin.

Do not use for treatment of dogs of small breeds up to 12 months of age, dogs of large breeds up to 18 months of age, pregnant bitches, as well as bitches during lactation due to negative impact on cartilage tissue formation.

Do not use tetracycline, chloramphenicol, cyclosporine and macrolides simultaneously with antibiotics due to possible toxicosis.

 

 

Cautions :

Preparations from the quinolone group should be used with caution in animals with CNS disorders.

If the dose volume exceeds 10 ml for cattle, 5 ml for sheep and goats and 2.5 ml for lambs, goats and pigs, it should be separated and introduced into different areas.

It is allowed to slaughter animals for meat 10 days after the last application of the preparation. Consumption of cows’ and goats’ milk for food is allowed 7 and 5 days after the last application of the preparation. Meat and milk obtained before the specified period are disposed of or fed to non-productive animals, depending on the opinion of the veterinary medicine doctor.

 

 

Storage :

Dry, dark, inaccessible for children at temperatures between 40-77F (5 ° C to 25 ° C).

Store away from food, drinks, including animal feed.

Shelf life – 3 years.

After the first withdrawal the preparation should be used within 28 days provided it is stored in its original packaging at temperatures between 40-77F (5 ºC and 25 ºC).
